He was the first son of Colonel William Pym Burt, Chief Justice of St Kitts. Member of the council of St Kitts, 1745 - 55. Acquired a country estate at Maiden Earley, near Reading in Berkshire. MP for Great Marlow, 1761 - 68. Sold his manor at Maiden Earley to Edward Golding MP. Governor of the Leeward Islands, 1776 - 1781.Will dated 30 Dec 1776; proved 27 Mar 1781 (118, Webster). Owned land in Prince Edward Island with John Callender.
